My Jeep is a '97 TJ. 2" chassis lift; 1" body lift; 35's on 17x9 wheels' lockers, SLE, Core 4x4 control arms; spin free kit; chrome-moly axles; HP D30 front axle; D44 rear; relocated rear upper spring perches and shocks; lots of other mods. I say all this as an intro because I spend meaningful time off road in the mountains of northern Arizona, and a durable, reliable, high quality machine is critical to me. I don't do things like jump my Jeep or try to break it. I hunt in remote places and wheeling is a fun part of being out there so outstanding reliability and functionality are top priorities. My biggest headaches have been blistering road noise, getting to and from my destination, the terrible heat from motor & trans especially in the summertime, and of course cleaning out the mud and dirt after hunting and offroading, especially if its muddy out. My frustration is what caused me to search for a new, highly heat resistant flooring solution.
The usual stuff is just a waste of money for the way I use my Jeep. That's how I found Armorlite...What Armorlite has developed here is absolutely off the charts incredible for both heat insulation, sound attenuation and clean up. I will say if you are installing yourself, it will take time and effort to wrestle the materials into place. I had to cut the driver's side pad that runs under the rocker panel. It was about 3/4" too long, and the passenger side drain did not align perfectly, so had to adjust that a bit, but just a bit. No big deal. Fundamentally the fit and finish are incredibly good. Wrestling with this material is challenging, but totally workable, especially if it is warm out. Takes time because the material is no BS durable and tough. After purchasing the front, I was so impressed with the noise reduction and heat sheilding I purchased the rear mat as well. My jeep is 50% quieter on the road and down right peaceful on the trail (which matters because I run headers and free flow muffler) and the durability of the mat material and ease of cleaning out mud with a hose is unmatched. There is no heat in the cabin eminating from the floor boards cooking my feet anymore. This invention is really and truly a marvel of technology and an incredibly durable and effective solution. Yes, it is pricy, but it is worth every dime if you after the best quality and effectiveness available. No BS. Outstanding product. I wish they made Jeep soft tops. Can you imagine the quality, long life and durability? Yes, guys, that's a hint!
